The Northern Ireland Festival Committee is delighted to announce that they will be hosting six prestigious qualifiers for the ‘World’s Most Famous Horse Show’

These are:

Cuddy Working Hunter of the Year Championship (Horses)
Cuddy In-Hand Championship
133cm Working Hunter Pony of the Year
143cm Working Hunter Pony of the Year
153cm Working Hunter Pony of the Year
Intermediate Working Hunter Pony of the Year

The Horse of the Year Show 2016 takes place at Birmingham’s NEC from 5th – 9th October 2016. Competitors can view the HOYS rules here

Ponies / Horses that are competing in HOYS working hunter qualifiers that take place in Ireland and that are resident in Ireland, may be a member of their relevant Irish society at time of qualification. 

Cuddy Working Hunter Horse – For those that qualify the Owners, Riders and Producers must be members of the British Show Horse Association (BSHA), and all horses must be registered with the BSHA in order to compete in the Horse of the Year final at the NEC in Birmingham.

Working Hunter Pony – Those that qualify for the Horse of the Year Show must register with either NPS, Ponies (UK), The Showing Register or BSPS and a copy of a valid JMB height certificate (*see note below) lodged with that society. Riders and Owners must be members of either NPS, Ponies (UK), The Showing Register or BSPS.

*Ponies competing in ridden height restricted classes, that are resident in Ireland, may submit a copy of their current/valid IPS height certificate at the time of registration to one of the relevant societies we have listed above. However All ponies resident in Ireland must be in possession of a current/valid JMB height certificate for the final at the Horse of the Year Show at the NEC in October 2016.

Cuddy In Hand Qualifier – There are no membership restrictions and those competing do not need to be a member of any association.

If you plan on entering a Horse of the Year show qualifier, you will need to get a free HOYS ID number – this can be obtained via the website www.grandstandentries.com  There is no need to be a member of any society in order to obtain a HOYS ID number.
